williamson reunion 2013 part 3

lots of cousins, a campfire and smores

it is our tradition, on the last morning of our reunion, to have a tribute to our very missed grandpa and grandma williamson. we started in the lodge, each grandchild getting up and telling a few of their favorite memories of grandpa and grandpa.  i cherish those memories.  i miss them so much when we are all together without them, it is hard to put into words how special they were to me and my family.  they set an amazing example and left a great legacy for us to follow.

we always sing the song all of the grandchildren sang at the funerals "together forever" and send our balloons off to them.

williamson reunion 2013 part 2

we planned a hike to wind cave for all the family members that were interested.  here is a picture of some of our slightly dramatic tired hikers.

these two spent most of the reunion playing next to the "kitchen" in these rocks.

we had a night of minute to win it games, and a night of skits.

i love all these cousins willing to act a little silly:)

williamson family reunion 2013

my parents were in charge of the williamson family reunion this year.   i love that my extended family is willing to  make the effort to travel to wherever we decide to gather as a family.  this reunion always makes me remember so many of the wonderful memories i have from my grandma and grandpa.  i know that they are so happy that we are still getting together to make memories, even though they have passed away.

we were able to have the reunion at the darby girls camp.  it was a beautiful weekend, and was wonderful to see all my relatives again.

my uncle fred teaches archery and he spent HOURS teaching these boys how to shoot.  he even got quite a few of the girls to come have a lesson as well.

the darby slide was almost always in use, those kids rode it over and over again.

we set up a table in the lodge full of pictures and photo albums of grandpa and grandma williamson.  some of my favorite times were listening to my dad, aunt, and uncle share stories about their mom and dad.

this was our kitchen:)

these two little cousins could not have been cuter.

hill air force base

on our way home from salt lake, we decided to stop at hill air force base.  carson was so excited, he had been wanting to stop and see all of those airplanes for years.  it was a beautiful day and we had a great time.  i think aaron and carson could have stayed the whole day, carson was interested in learning about every plane.  the girls and coop were patient, but certainly happy when we decided to head home.

it was a little strange to try to explain this atomic bomb replica to my little boy.

this was the point when coop decided he had had enough of this place.
