star valley fair

every august, we like to head to star valley during the week of the lincoln county fair.  we pull the trailer up and park it in grandpa lindberg farm, and enjoy a nice weekend away.  this year jared and his family joined us, and the kids loves having cousins around to play with.

they always start the fair week with a parade.  it is not crowded, it is really short, and they throw lots of candy.  it is a perfect parade.

after the parade, we grabbed some dinner and headed to the fairgrounds for the demolition derby.  aaron had taken the kids last year, but i thought coop was too young, so we stayed at the trailer.  we all went this year, and cooper loved it.  the weather was perfect, they had a great band playing, and it never gets old watching cars crash into each other over and over again.

star valley part 1

every august we like to head to star valley to see aaron's grandpa and attend the lincoln county fair.  we loved having some cousins come to spend the weekend with us as well.

the kids love to go see the parade that the town has to kick off the fair.  it is short, not crowded, and they give lots of candy.  it is the perfect parade:)

after the parade, we grabbed dinner and headed back to the fairgrounds for the demolition derby.  aaron and the kids had gone the year before, but we didn't think coop could make so late, so him and i stayed in the trailer.  it was so fun to go this year and watch coop love every minute of it.  it is so crazy to watch these guys crash into each other over and over again.

oregon coast 2013

family vacation summer 2013.  we loved driving to the oregon coast and spending a week with my extended family. we had so many pictures of this trip, i had to print out a book for just the week long trip.  here are some of our highlights.

hood river, oregon.  this was the amazing view we had from our hotel.  the beautiful columbia river, and washington on the other side.

after a full day of driving to hood river, we took the kids to the river to play.  there were tons of windsurfers there and we loved watching them crash and fly all over the place.

on our way to lincoln city, we detoured a little and visited silver falls state park.  we could have spent a week there.  they have a ten mile hike to ten different waterfalls.  a few of the waterfalls have trails where you can walk behind the falling water.

we took a day drive down the coast to visit yaquina head lighthouse.  it was a little chilly, but the ocean and coast were so beautiful.

we loved all the little creatures we found in the tide pools.

aaron really wanted to drive up to astoria and see the goonie house.  i loved that little town.

we drove up to see the view from the astoria column.  at the visitor's center they sell little wooden airplanes for $1.  after you climb all 164 stairs to the top of the column, you can fly your airplane off the platform.

our hike to hanging bridge.

the view of the ocean from our beach house.

grandpa is always willing to entertain kids while the parents finish getting ready for church.

i giggle everytime i see this picture of my little boogie boarder.

our beach house

it was so beautiful and green there.  this was our trail to the hanging bridge.

on our way home we stopped in boise to check out the boise state football field.

back to reality....we will miss that ocean view, the really really loud video game in the basement, playing pool, sitting in the hot tub, walking down to the beach, watching fireworks from the balcony, the painful massage chair, getting up really early to catch the low tide, flying our kites on the beach, and making wonderful memories.
