weekend away part 2

our next stop was the hands on museum.  another great activity for the little boys, but my poor girls were a little bored.  not many exhibits for teenagers.

coop loved playing in the water.  it was such a fun exhibit for the boys, they would have stayed there all day.

they had a construction site for the kids to play on.  so fun for little boys...and apparently older girls as well:)

they had a a mini house...coop loved the kitchen and heading to the grocery store for food.

morgan and aaron hanging out on the farm.

morgan and paige

the grocery store

the helicopter was a huge hit.  carson loved to pretend he was flying that thing.

tinker toy world.  they had a bunch of learning exhibits totally made out of tinker toys.

weekend away part 1

the last time i had been to see the lights at temple square was when i was pregnant with paige...she is 10 now, so aaron and i decided it was time the whole family went to see them.  we left early on a friday morning so we could grab lunch at chuck e cheese.  when we got there, we realized only about 2 other families where also there.  it was so relaxing to let the kids roam all over, because it was so easy to keep track of them with the place to our selves.  it had been a really long time since i had been to a chuck e cheese. i have great memories of going with my parents and grandparents when i was a kid.  my grandpa would have a never ending supply of tokens, it was so fun to go with them.

my big girls being great sports at the kiddy place:)  they actually had fun playing the games, and they were great to help the boys.

this boy was scared at first, but once he got brave he was flying through the tokens faster than any of them.

a little pizza break.

he loved to get the tickets.

we had to get one picture of us with chuck e cheese,  i have so many memories of watching the "show" with my family as a kid.  this one makes me laugh because carson is loving it and cooper is TERRIFIED to be that close to a giant moving mouse.

christmas tree hunt 2012

the weekend after thanksgiving, we headed to the forest for our annual christmas tree hunt with the our good friends the parkers.  we had almost no snow so the kids didn't get to sled like they usually do, but it was a lot easier to haul a tree down from the mountain.  cooper was even able to walk most of the way up to where we found the trees.

not much snow meant things were a little muddy.  grandpa and cooper went down to the creek to wash off a little mud.

coop and grandma having a little hot chocolate and crackers.

after we finish getting the trees, we headed to big jude for lunch.  it is always nice to get my kids out in the woods and spend some time with good friends:)

happy birthday grandpa

grandpa lindberg turned 91 this november:)  his sweet daughters planned a birthday party for him in star valley, so we decided to go for a visit.  we had a nice lunch, and then headed back to his house for cake and presents.

grandpa is so sweet with my kids. i love to watch how cute he is with my little boys:)

happy birthday grandpa lindberg!

thanksgiving

i don't know how, but between gathering all my children and the food, i forgot to take my camera to thanksgiving:(  we spent the day at aaron's parents house.  we arrived at noon and were able to spend the afternoon playing with the kids, looking through old photo albums, and snacking on appetizers.  it was so nice to have a day to relax with my family, i think the best part was that i wasn't at my own house, so i wasn't constantly thinking of things i needed to get done.  the kids loved spending the day with cousins and grandparents.  sherry was able to bring grandpa lindberg up to spend the day with us.  my boys love grandpa lindberg, and cooper calls him the "cowboy grandpa."  really wish i could have snapped some pictures of my boys hanging out with great grandpa lindberg. we had wonderful thanksgiving feast, and a great day making memories with our family.

smashing pumpkins

aaron has recently become a skilled pumpkin grower.  he bought the seeds, dug special mounds, marked them with stakes, put special fertilizers on them, and were rewarded with a bounteous harvest.  after we gave some of the pumpkins to neighbors, and carved some... aaron took the kids and grandpa to the hills to take care of the rest..

this was one of the giant pumpkins we grew, i think it weighed in at 94 pounds.

i don't have much to journal, as cooper and i were not invited.  they kids had a blast and i am sure they will all be anxiously awaiting the new crop of pumpkins next fall:)
