A few pictures from Sea Port Village

This picture is kinda out of focus, but I love that look on his face.

We let Coop roam free in the car for a little bit (we weren’t driving!) That little boy spent a lot of time in his car seat and stroller, so we decided he needed a little freedom.

Another horn picture.

I loved all the cool plants and trees that grew there. It was so green and pretty everywhere we went.

Point Loma

The next day we were in San Diego, we woke up to lots of misty fog and sprinkling rain all day long. We decided to drive down the coast and go visit the light house at Point Loma.

We stopped at a beach in La Jolla because we could see sea lions out swimming in the water. We saw a mom and 3 babies sleeping on some rocks close to us.

Carson found a bunch of sea gulls to chase.

My kids loved going up inside the lighthouse. They wouldn’t let us go all the way to the top, but they posed for a picture by the little window near the top.

We were pretty excited to look down from the visitor center and see a submarine headed out of the harbor.

IMG_0116

These were all around making sure the submarine had no trouble getting out of the harbor. It was an experience to see the military in action.

We ended the day with a trip to Seaport Village and drive over the Coronado Bridge in the dark.

San Diego Zoo

Our second day in Sandy Dego (as my son quite cutely calls it) we went to the zoo. It was an overcast day, which was nice, so we could keep cool while we walked for miles and miles.

Grandpa Rich’s photo idea. He thought the kids needed reindeer antlers.

Carson likes to tease his dad, because his dad HATES snakes. He didn’t really even care for this fake one.

Cooper loved the bus ride. He would have ridden all day. I love how his hair is flying all over the place.

We still talk about how this hippo could have used a dentist.

We had never seen Giant Panda’s before. We were quite impressed.

We loved the zoo, but once again, we were exhausted! I was impressed at how far my little kiddos could walk.

San Diego Day 1

After two tiring days at Disneyland, we drove to San Diego, where we stayed for the rest of our trip. The next morning Grandpa came back from a walk to the beach and told us that he had seen some dolphins. Morgan and Carson were really excited to go the water, so we headed down. It was so fun to watch Morgan see the ocean for the first time. We waded in the water, grandpa chased Carson with a big pieces of kelp, and we found a few sea shells. The rest of the day we played at the pool, poor Carson had been begging to swim for days. (The pool at our motel by Disneyland was closed for two days, to be repaired.) After two busy days, it was wonderful to have a relaxing day.

Disneyland Part 2

IMG_0012

I was AMAZED that these ladies wanted a picture with Minnie Mouse. Carson still only wanted to look from a safe distance away.

IMG_0013

The first thing we did was hop on the train and ride to the back of the park. Then we just worked our way out. It was really fun to watch my kids ride the same rides I had gone on as a kid.

IMG_0014 IMG_0015

Ice Cream Break. I still look at that ice cream and see dollar signs (Cool treats for a family of 5 cost about $25.) The kids were hungry, and it was hot, so we were desperate.

IMG_0017

Carson was really excited to drive the cars.

IMG_0018 IMG_0021

IMG_0023

That is one seriously packed tea cup,we just barely all fit. My sweet husband made us spin so fast I thought I might throw up. The kids laughed hysterically at me, because I was begging him to stop spinning us so fast.

IMG_0025 IMG_0027 IMG_0031

Carson wanted to ride this wild train ride. I was worried we would scare him to death, but he was tall enough, and his Daddy said it would be fine. I ended up being quite wrong, he said it was his favorite.

IMG_0040IMG_0033 IMG_0034IMG_0045

We were on our way to the World of Color show. We were so tired, but we were so glad we went. The show was fabulous and my kids loved it, except poor Carson who was exhausted and fell asleep in the stroller.

Carson’s second favorite ride.

IMG_0038

I just thought these were cute little chubby piggies!!

IMG_0042

So many pictures, and still I wished I would have taken more. I think my kids would have loved to take one on every ride, so they could remember them all. We loved Disneyland, but ALL of us were totally exhausted after a couple of full days. We were very ready for a R and R day.
