grandpa lindberg

our trip would not be complete without grandpa lindberg riding down the sled hill.  he does this every year, never using a sled, always sitting on the end of a big snow shovel.

seriously one of the funniest grandpa's i have ever met.

grandpa's tractor

grandpa loves to give the boys tractor rides.  carson was so interested in how the bucket worked, grandpa showed him how he scoops the snow and dumps it on the snow pile.

we sure love this sweet great grandpa.

peanut party

just taking a minute to have a snack.  these guys love peanuts, and i love that they are eating them outside and not inside the house.  coop loves to crack the shells and get the peanuts out, but makes a horrible mess in the process.  i love when he finds a really long one, (one that holds three peanuts) he gets really excited because he found the "jackpot peanut."

star valley...part one

each year for presidents day, we head to star valley for a little winter fun.  we love to go visit grandpa lindberg, my boys are infatuated with life on a farm.  grandpa always uses the tractor to push the snow into a big hill for the kids to sled on.

it was such a beautiful day, so bright and sunny my kids couldn't keep their eyes open for a picture.

this boy is in absolute heaven.  one of his favorite places to visit.

grandpa and carson trying to get the last snowmobile started.

love when my girls decide they can actually be friends:)

this boy loves the snow, he would play outside for hours if he never got cold.

such a beautiful place to spend a weekend.

happy valentines day

i spent valentines day running around like a crazy lady.  between going to the school to help in paige's classroom in the morning, then running to town, then running back to the school to help with carson's party, then getting homework done, then running paige to her 4H sewing class, then trying to get a little valentines day dinner ready for my family, this mom was exhausted.  luckily, we had a lovely little dinner, opened some valentines day presents,  coop went to bed at 7:30, and then this tired mom got to relax and enjoy the rest of the evening.

once the kids opened up their valentines, they all disappeared to enjoy the goods.  now that i think about it, they might have just headed to their rooms to consume more candy without getting in trouble;)
carson was so excited about his new lego's.  thanks to a few of my good friends for finding and helping create the sweet lego guy organizer thing...cannot think of what else to call it.  he loved it and spent the next hour filling it up with some favorite lego's.

since my girls are way too big for toys, they just get practical stuff.  i do love that they get excited about socks, makeup, earrings, and even "electric toothbrushes" as carson called them.

i tried to buy coop a few things, but since he is always with me when i run to the store, he seemed to always find what i was trying to hide in the shopping cart and have it opened before i could stop him.  luckily he is pretty easy to please.  he would have been happy to just have the candy.

so grateful for all of my valentine's.

snow day

january was freezing cold this year.  it seems like the whole month the temperature was below zero.  i felt so bad dropping my kids off each morning to head to school when it was so nasty outside.  we did get lucky one morning when it got -20 degrees outside, and school was actually cancelled.  it was so cold, we just wanted to sit inside and hibernate.

a few week later, we were treated to a bit of a snow storm.  my daughters were so excited when i woke them at 6 and told them to turn off the alarms because it has snowed enough to cancel school.  after a lazy morning, we all decided to go outside and play in all of this snow.

coop was struggling to walk around in the backyard.  it was too deep for his little legs.

carson working on a snow fort.

coop coming for a visit and to "help" the girls with their fort.  he was a little destructive when he was helping, so we had to distract him with something else to do.

so fun to get a day off when you weren't expecting it.  it is so nice to play and relax and not feel guilty about not getting much done.

sledding with friends

this year our school district is trying out an early release day.  it happens most wednesday, but not all of them, just enough of them to confuse parents about when to pick kids up from school.  it seems like the kids love an early day home, but as a mother trying to keep track of my life, it can be a big huge pain.   my sweet neighbor had the great idea to help us enjoy early release day a bit more one week.  after the kids got home from school, we piled as many of them and their friends as we could fit in our cars, and headed to the sledding hill.  these cute kids had a blast and it was so nice to get them out of the house for an afternoon.

the whole clan:)

coop was in heaven.

sweet little maddy taking a little break.

they loved to race.  it took forever to get everyone lined up at the top, but had a blast all going down together.

the two little ones headed off for another hill.

it was a wonderful way to spend a long early release afternoon.
