Trouble

Here we go again. I just got one little boy old enough to not be quite so destructive to my house, and now this little one is just getting started.

We have to lock him out of Carson’s room, or he will unload all of the books off of the bookshelf.

We had to move the barstools out to the garage because he kept knocking them over and hurting himself.

All bathroom doors have to stay shut, because he likes to fall into the tub.

He has broken two DVD players.

I had to move my plant to higher ground.

He has certainly gotten busy over the last few months.

It is a good thing he is so sweet and cute, it helps us tolerate all the mess he makes.

Flashback Friday

I love that a blog is a little history of my family, yet, I wish I could have started it many years ago, so that I would have much more recorded. To try to make for years past, I am going to start posting some of my favorite pictures from the pre-blogging years! The goal here is every Friday, but we will see if I can keep that up.

This is one of my favorite pictures of Carson. He is about 9 months old, and very unhappy that he had to sit in the car. It was nap time, and he was still in a rear-facing car seat, which always seems to make my kids grumpy. To keep him from screaming, I handed him a piece of red licorice, and it worked like magic. He ate the licorice and I didn't hear another word from him. When I got home and went to get him out of his car seat, this is what I found!

I couldn't get him into the house without waking him up, nor did I really want that red stuff all over his bedding!

I find it ironic that 2 years later, this little guy is still dumping out all the shampoo into the tub, every time he gets the chance. He REALLY likes bubbles!

To Shower or not to Shower....

So, I had thought my little Sunbeam had outgrown a bit of his naughtiness. He has been pretty sweet, even though he can be a bit messy. This morning, it got quite messy. I almost always shower at night because I don't want him to do this.

This morning I got in the shower, fixed my hair, and when I came out it wasn't pretty. He usually gets into food, but today he cranked it up a notch.

I might have to blame my brother-in-law Shae, for this unfortunate event. On Christmas morning, he had a Sharpie. The idea was to put a "C" and "Z" on every toy that the boys opened that was the same, so they could tell them apart. It worked great, and they got along so much better this year.

During the shower, he found a present that was for Morgan, that had not been opened. He took it out of the wrapper, got the dry erase markers out, and tried to mark her present. He must have gotten bored after that, because next he marked my fridge, wall, piano, and rug.

Lucky for me it wasn't a Sharpie, and I was able to get all the marker out...I wonder if I will be as lucky the next time???

Boys will be Boys!

The day before school stared, my sweet mom invited us to go have a picnic lunch at Freeman Park. My Dad works close by, so he came over and had lunch with us.

Carson and my Dad went for a walk down by the river, and when they came back, they told the girls there was something neat they needed to go look at down by the river. So after we finished our lunches, we walked down by the river, and in some rocks, we saw a pool of water with millions of little minnows swimming in it!

My Dad being the good grandpa he is, was down on his knees trying to catch a minnow for the kids to see, when Morgan noticed a water snake was almost crawling up his pant leg. Carson was really excited. We watched it swim around in the water, and then it came over right by us again, and Carson really wanted to "Get IT!"
So Grandpa caught it, and I thought my boy would be a little nervous (his genetics-from his Father-show that he should HATE snakes!) but he was so excited. He only touched it at first, and would laugh his head off, and then we let him hold it by himself! It is so funny, after my two girls, to see a boy be such a little boy!

I of course forgot my camers, but my Mom took this one from her cell phone.

Carson's 1 Toy......

The other night, when Grandpa and Grandma Lowry came over for a visit, Carson would not leave Grandpa Lowry alone! He kept showing him toys, and talking non-stop. He was being pretty cute, but he was making a horrible mess, so when he went heading back to his room to pull out more toys, I told him No! We had enough toys out! He kept begging and pleading with me, and like a sucker I gave in and told him he could only bring out 1 more toy! The next thing we see, is Carson pulling his 1 toybox out of his room, completely filled with toys!! He then proceded to stack them as high as he could on Grandpa! He was having his own little game of "Show and Tell!"

It is a little disturbing to me that he is already figuring out ways to undermine my authority and get his own way! Whatever will he be like in the fabulous teenage years?

T.R.O.U.B.L.E.

Even though the weather wasn't fantastic, the wind did slow down enough to let us go out and play a bit! Aaron was playing softball with the girls, (getting them ready for games tomarrow) and Carson was a little bored until he found this little toy in Grandpa's garage! I was trying to get a picture of him, without soaking my camera. He thought it was hysterical.

Here he is going after Grandma sitting inside the house. The door was open, and he definetly got water inside the house. We are really trying to teach him that you can only squirt water guns outside, but I am convinced he only listens to me when he likes what he is hearing!
The only way we were able to distract him was to send him off to squirt Daddy and his sisters! He thought is was so much fun till Morgan stole the squirt gun and sprayed him back. He did not find that part quite so funny!

Mr. Independent!!

So, here is my little boy at work! Yesterday Carson was watching TV, and I decided to go downstairs and look at some stuff on the computer. After a couple of minutes, I started hearing noises coming from the kitchen. I knew I would regret it, but I was just too tired to run up and stop him! I heard a chair being moved, dishes clanging , the sounds of a little boy making a mess. When I did finally make it upstairs, I was in for a little surprise.

Here is the chair that I heard scooting across my tile floor!!!

Here is the milk, he tried to put away, but just could not reach!

Here is what the dude wanted!!!!

Here is the little boy, after getting everything he needed all by himself, enjoying a little cereal!

He seemed to be quite proud of himself. And believe it or not, he actually didn't make a mess! He didn't even spill the milk!!

This little boy is getting independent!
